Handmade Louisiana Editorial in Saphhire Whisper Magazine

Hello gang! We are back finally from our vacation and have reopened the team shop.  We're also very happy to have returned to an editorial about us in Sapphire Whisper Magazine. Craft a Longs ARE returning but we've ran into a Yahoo photo albums snafu and some of our members are having problems uploading their pics to our usual albums, so we'll be voting on the next theme later this week.

I hope everyone is having a fabulous October, I know the craft show circuit is in full swing now and I hope everyone is getting out and checking out what fabulous items our local artisans have to offer!

Today's game was disappointing, but keep up the good spirits Who Dat Nation!! We will come through with flying black and gold colors!!

I Am New Orleans....

Five years ago today, life changed for everyone in the Gulf Coast, in one form or another. The Mississippi Coast was shattered, the Bayou and Coastal parishes of Louisiana were tortured and eroded. New Orleans flooded. My own hometown of Slidell was drastically damaged as 8 feet of water came in from Lake Ponchartrain.

Today, please remember the cities, states and PEOPLE who suffered the damage of this incredible storm. Be PREPARED for a storm! Be ready to evacuate. Donate to the organizations that help those who can not leave, and who clean up the damage.

Our coast, our state, our neighbors are important...special people. We are a hardy people, but we must work together to have a safer, better New Orleans and surrounding cities. Louisiana is where we at!

So today, I'm not going to post pictures of the damage. My heart can't take it. Instead, I post this video from our very own Vince Vance. Even though it focuses on New Orleans, anyone in the Gulf Coast can 'get' it and understand. Hurricane Katrina may have tried to kick our ass....but we can kick it back.

Be strong! Remember, they said the Saints would never win a Super Bowl! Who looks stupid NOW!?

Wow! I never thought I'd live to see the day!! This has been an AMAZING year for our Saints and we deserve this Championship like never before!

I could wax on about Hurricane Katrina, rebuilding, our years in shame with bags over our heads....but you know all that. If you live or have lived here, you know about that. You have picked up your neighbor's yard after a storm, you have painted your nails black and gold even in the darkest of years, you have named your dog Payton.....

YOU are the fans, YOU are the reason this is so awesome! We have an unbelievable team, hard working, talented, honorable, and FABULOUS. But what sets the Saints apart from other teams are the FANS. Saints fans are die hards through the good times and the bad.

Saints fans are what helps make these games and this area so special. We are strong, brave and will fight a good fight. (Okay sometimes we might voodoo your butt if you're mean to us...)

Handmade Louisiana is SO PROUD of the New Orleans Saints and all the fans. The NFL tried to take Who Dat and the Fleur De Lis away from us and we fought back! Senators, fans, business owners banded together and FOUGHT BACK!

Who Dat Nation knows no color, no politics, no parish lines, hell no state lines! Who Dat Nation resides in every Saints fan all around the country and world. Who Dat Nation lives on because we FINISH STRONG.
